I also find that the security of having ownership of one own body, realizing how absolutely wonderful and miraculous it truly is, gives me a sense of power over my insecurities. Although not addressing the social component to living, a simple and gentle sureness of being a living being can give one a sense of power and place in the world. This experience can remain present in situations that bring on social insecurities. After all, social interaction is nothing more than encountering and engaging others who are having the same bodily human experience of existence, effectively leveling everyone equally.
